Pennsylvania’s Tyler State Park is located in Bucks County on the Eastern end of the state. It sits on 1,711 acres of farmland. The Neshaminy Creek is one of the centerpieces of the park and it helps to geographically divide the park into several different parts.

Pennsylvania is an excellent are to find state parks at. Shawnee State Park, which is located on 3,983 acres of The Ridge and Valley Province of PA, is one of them. This national state park is found just 10 miles west of the historic town of Bedford, PA, and can be easily accessed from both the Pennsylvania Turnpike or State Route 30.

The main focal point of Shawnee Lake is the lake itself. With 451 acres of beautiful clear water, Shawnee Lake attracts swimmers, boaters, fisherman and sunbathers alike. The lake is open during the summer season with posted lifeguards in certain areas, and the swimming area is free. The beach area includes a large area of sandy beach, with both sunny spots and shady areas. Swimming in the lake is allowed during normal summer hours, and any type of flotation devices are also permitted. Located at the main swimming area is a concession stand offering hot and cold foods, as well as an assortment of beverages and ice cream. Hours for the beach are 11 a.m to 7 p.m., running from the first Saturday after Memorial Day through Labor Day. Just a slight ways down from the beach area are volleyball nets set up for anyone to play on a first come, first served basis.

Located where the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers form the Ohio, Point State Park encompasses thirty-six acres directly adjacent to downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Known as simply ‘The Point’ by locals, it serves as a venue for both the three Rivers Regatta and The Three Rivers Arts Festival, as well as a favored viewing sight for Independence Day fireworks. When not engaged by an event, the park is a favored spot for joggers and walkers from the local area, as well as providing scenic photo opportunities for out-of-town travelers and tourists alike.

Milton State Park is a wonderful park located in the central part of Pennsylvania. It is located in Union County of Route 642. The park is basically divided in to two parts. One part is mainly for daily recreational use while the other is geared toward hiking and wildlife watching. The park is fairly small in size but still offers a lot of enjoyment for visitors. Here are some of the great activities available in Milton State Park.

Milton State Park has many fields available for sports and games. There are softball fields and soccer fields already laid out in the park. That makes Milton State Park a great destination for intramural leagues as well as a place for people to play a friendly game. The fields are open to both the public and local leagues. If you want to just go to the park to play around, you might want to check with the office before arriving. During league events the fields can become busy.

Situated in Westmoreland County about an hour outside of Pittsburgh in the Laurel Highlands, Keystone State Park boasts 1,200 acres of rolling woodlands, a 72-acre man-made lake, and multiple camping areas, yurts, cabins, and cottages for visitors to enjoy. An all-around outdoors wonderland, Keystone is a popular venue for hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. There is no admission fee whatsoever.
