Named for a Revolutionary War hero who called the area home, the Elijah Clark state park
sits along the western shore of the huge Clarks Hill Lake. History buffs can enjoy a tour of the meticulously restored log cabin in the park, where they will find examples of furnishings, utensils and tools from the 1780s. The log cabin museum is open every weekend from April through November, making it a wonderful spring, summer and fall getaway as well as a great learning opportunity for the whole family. Visitors will also find the gravesites of Elijah Clark and his wife Hannah onsite so that they can pay their respects to this great war hero.
