The Obed Wild and Scenic River Tennessee National Park
The Obed is one of 150 national Wild and Scenic River Parks in the United States and the
only one in Tennessee. It is a wild river and forest area stretching across the Cumberland Plateau with the river in its valley in east-central Tennessee. It rises in Cumberland County near Crossville, Tennessee, and enters the more remote area of the National Park where it gets it name as one of the Wild and Scenic Rivers of the US. It’s a wilderness much the same as when the first settlers came to the region. The river with its tributaries, Daddy’s Creek and Clear Creek, offer some of the most beautiful scenery and rugged back country in the State with 45 miles of river to play on.
