John Martin Reservoir State Park

John Martin Reservoir State Park is located in Bent County in southeastern Colorado. The reservoir is just south of Hasty, Colorado and due east of Pueblo on Highway 50. The park sit on the high desert life zone of southeastern Colorado. Plant life includes prickly pear cactus that blooms prolifically in the spring, yucca and sagebrush.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park

Cheyenne Mountain State Park lies north of Colorado Springs along the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain. Open since 2006, the newest of Colorado’s state parks contains abundant flora and fauna from the open spaces of the Front Range to the top of Cheyenne Mountain. Once a working ranch, visitors now enjoy 1680 acres of natural beauty combined with modern facilities that enhance the camping experience. Guests are welcome to visit the educational displays or participate in any number of park hosted programs presented by staff.

Bonny Lake State Park in Colorado

Located in an expansive valley on the south fork of the Republican River, Bonny Lake State Park includes 6900 acres that encompass majestic Lake Bonny. The 1900 acre reservoir was built in the 1950’s by the Bureau of Reclamation and serves as the focal point for the area’s many attractions.

Barr Lake State Park

Barr Lake State Park is located just off Interstate 76, near the town of Brighton, Colorado, which is about a thirty minute drive from the Denver Metro area. It became part of the Colorado State Parks System in 1976.
