Default NJ Bear Hunt Controversy

New Jersey has a lot of bear hunt controversy. The bear population is out of control, but there is a BEAR group that challenges the hunt in court every year and pickets at the weigh in stations. They have been known to walk through the woods and bang pots and pans and scream really loud to scare the bear away from hunters. I have never hunted bear, but the land cannot sustain them. What do you do?

People need to get over themselves, I see a ton of these people protest and some have valid reasons. Many though just try to get into the media eye and end up causing all sorts of ruckus rather than help to fix the problem.

I usually don't trek very far,
when all around me black bears are.

Hi...

People will protest almost anything, eh? But, I think that's what free speech is all about.

The protestors not withstanding, you appear to have two solutions to your black bear problem...either relocate them (we're probably talking big bucks here...maybe a huge donation from the protesters?)...or establish a hunting season, from which extra dollars will be funneled into the locale...people will have extra meat to eat this winter...and the nuisance bear population may be closer to being controlled.

And, for what it's worth, you may wish to contact (or swamp with letters) your friendly, local politicians, and let them explain their way out of your delimma...!! Just a thought.

Hark...!! Was that a hand grenade I heard expolding? Ow! Ow! Ow!

Send them my way. When hunting we call them kinds of people brushers or bird dogs. Let them chase the critters right to us.

Grandpa is right. Of course, this tactic is illegal as hell. But, if you have no control over the drovers, you would be considered an opportunist.

Why would people not want o hunt and kill overpopulated bears? Do they seriously want them in their own backyard ripping apart their items looking for food. Or worse yet, trying to come into their homes for food?
