Default Does anyone go snowshoeing?

I have always thought it would be great to get to put on a pair of snowshoes and go exploring. Does anyone get to do this often?

If we ever had enough snow to go out and do it, we would. We have saw some nice snow already this year but none that has stuck long enough to do anything in.

I can relate. We haven't gotten much snow at all this winter compared to what I was hoping we would end up getting. I wanted to play some while I was off for the holidays!

I had friends who went snow shoeing and cross country skiing last week-- they got 2 feet of snow in one day! It was one of the best ways to get around.

It is always interesting to hear about other people's weather but I'll let you all keep it over there okay? I have enough ice without snow right now. Need to let this thaw off first.

Now that sounds like it would be a ton of fun! My kids want to start to snow board or ski and this sounds right up my alley. Kind of like cross country skiing too. We are supposed to get some snow this weekend. Do you know where I could get some snowshoes?

I have saw many pairs going on ebay for cheap but they don't sell them locally so I'm not sure what stores would have them. I saw a post on here about making some but I didn't read it. You might check it out though.

Hey Everyone,

If you would like to go snowshoeing and you live somewhere around Mt. Rainier (I live 1 1/2 hours from there) they have a Park Ranger guided snowshoe trip. It costs $15 to get into the park, save your receipt it lasts all week, and the snowshoe rentals are a "donation" of $1. I haven't had the opportunity to do this myself, due to the fact that children have to be over 8 years, but I would love to do it sometime.
