Default Winter camping

Anyone around here like to go camping during the winter when it's snowing? There's nothing but quiet when you go winter camping because no one else is crazy enough to do it.

No, our family is definitely warm weather campers. A little chill in the air is ok, but snow? No, thank you. We like Winter outdoor sports, skating, sleding, skiing, but we like to come in after to a nice warm, dry, room.

We spend a week hunting and camping in the Adirondacks each November. Peace and quiet, in beautiful surroundings. I look forward to it all year.

I've done it, but it was a hotel stay with occasional daytime picnics in the tent. There is no one around you, the quiet is magnificent.

Brrr... that is my answer! I would love to go camping in the winter time but it would have to be in a heated camper. I can't imagine tent camping in the snow. Where would you go to get warm.
Think of all the activities you could do, sledding, skiing, snowman building! Count me in!

I'll have to admit that part of my motivation is that I'm with the Scouts and we do a winter campout each month even during the winter. Teaches the boys how to be prepared for the worst conditions possible.

I have always wanted to try it, but plan to stay warm and no one will go with me.

Flannel, that's a beautiful thing that you're doing. Kids get a lot out of scouting and they're lucky to have people that are willing to take time out of their lives to expose them to it all.

I agree completely! I was lucky enough as a kid to have someone to teach me and to take me on camping. I think it is an experience that no kid will ever forget.

The weather has just been too awful lately so we haven't been out in a while, but otherwise, when it's not so bad, then we still brave it. We have sub zero sleeping bags, but still, when the ground is frozen its too much for me!
