Default How often are you on the water?

How often do you get a chance to spend some time on the water? Last year was a great year for me. We did so many different trips out. I'm so bummed now though, we don't have anything planned and I don't know when the next time we'll get to go out will be.

Generally once on any weekend where I'm not either out camping or obligated to do something else. Canoe fishing is among my favorite things.

I try to head out with a good friend of mine at least once a month on his boat during the warmer months if we can swing it. We both work odd shifts and sometimes sporadic overtime which is a killer.

I hope that this year will be a better year for me. I want to do some jet skiing, sailing, and maybe do some rapids as well. My goal is to do a good 25 trips out on the water. We will see if I can get that many in.

Now that I decided to be semi-retired, it should be a lot more. I live in a beautiful area near several lakes, and I really got tired of being stuck in an office all week.

When I was semi-retired I was on the water five days a week. Now that I am retired, I'm hoping for seven but since everyone knows I'm retired and figures I have nothing to do, they will ask me to fix things and do errands and babysit and build stuff for them and do their taxes and anything else they don't have time to do.

Never let anyone know you are free or you won't be.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I'm sorry, but that is going to happen to me, so I totally feel what you're saying. People already do that to me and I work full time and have small kids to manage.

Not enough, and with a newborn this year with some needs, it really will be not enough. But the wife may let me out once and a while.

I just started kayaking last July. Love it. I spent 1-2 days a week on a close by lake, and 1 float trip. This year, I plan on just as much if not more. And a few more float trips in there. Just need to find other yakers to go with.
