Default I Saw A Strange Thing Yesterday

As I was driving through town, I saw two kids in a car, one was driving, one had half of his body out of the car holding on to a kayak. Now, I hope they also had ropes securing it to the side of the car because he couldn't have held on to it when they started accelerating when they got out of town. Sometimes people amaze me.

I was going to make a crack about yesterday being Halloween and I had hoped you would have seen at least one strange thing but that takes the cake. Almost as much as the lady I helped out today.

Hopefully they were headed straight to the hardware store to get some bungees. That's really all they would need to do in a pinch, though a roof rack of some sort is probably best.

Hi...

Yes, all kids are invincible...!

They can do no harm, and nothing can happen to them.

Their cerebral cortex's won't be fully functional probably until their mid-twenties.

And their parents probably have no idea what they're up to...!!

Unfortunately, I've seen lots of items carried via roof-top that way...mattresses, lumber, you name it.

Too bad a cop didn't see them...!!

I hope it didn't land on the road. It's not a good thing to have a large object flying at you from the car in front of you. I've seen a lot of stupid stuff too. We used to live in a college town and it was amazing the things that kids who are away from home for the first time will do.

I'm here to ta tell ya, kids do mostly survive. I was a poster child for that, but us'ns do appreciate your worrying about us.

I have to agree with grandpa. I don't think I want to know a kid who isn't a dreamer. Sure, they do silly things but that is because they have no concept of impossibility. They don't take life seriously which makes them smarter than those who do.

We're all going to die. But how many of us have become afraid to live.

I do hope they didn't lose that kayak! I remember doing some really stupid things when I was a kid. One of the stupidest things we did was to chip the "silver" off of sparklers and mix it all together and then light it. It would sizzle and spark and sometimes go "poof". I'm surprised we didn't blow ourselves up. I guess we were maybe 6 or 7 when we did this. I don't ever remember getting hurt doing this but I'm surprised.
