I've never heard of kayaking down the road. It doesn't rain too much where I live, so it wouldn't be a good idea probably. It sure sounds like fun though.

I never kayaked down a road but growing up on a dirt road we had some freezing rain one year and the whole road froze over. It took a good couple hours for the salt and plow trucks to come through so my brother and I laced up our ice hockey skates and played some hockey on the road. It was fun and looking back it's one of those things that didn't seem super special at the time but is a memory I will forever hold onto.

Hi...

Yes, when flooding comes, you have to make the best of it. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no "best".

Here in our immediate area, we've been having "every hundred year" flooding every other year...!!

Tiny streams that aren't big enough to catch a fish in turn into torrents. Actually washing away houses. Killing people. Flooding whole towns and leaving debris in place of the roads that once were.

One town in particular gets hit the worst. One high school girl stood on the porch of her house just as it began to be torn apart and swept downstream. Neighbors were hollering to her to jump. Too late... her body was found downstream sometime later. At least one body has never been found.

And trying to get any authority to do something to relieve the flooding? "We will study it"...!!

Mother Nature has been very unkind to some of us here in recent years.

NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!
