Default Kayaking and Manatees

We went kayaking the other day in the river that leads out to the Gulf and saw several manatees. We are talking up close here. It's one thing being in a bit boat and seeing them but in a kayak is a different experience. They didn't try to tip up over or anything but did come up close.

Kings Bay just north of me has a spring you can kayak to. There is a manatee protected zone where you cannot swim or enter. The love it during the winter as the spring water is warmer then the rest of the area. I've been up there a few times and have gotten pretty close to some.

Back when you could tube down the Weeki Wachee I had one go right under me with a baby and come up about a foot behind me.
