My wife and I want to start Kayaking and are not sure what basic essentials would be other than the Kayaks and paddles. Any tips?

Don't forget a life jacket and helmet. Gloves may also help - they keep your hands warm and prevent blisters. Some people use a wet suit - that's up to you and your water temp.
