Question Used Kayak

I'd like to buy a used kayak for use this coming summer. Is anyone selling or have knowledge of someone who is selling a used kayak that is rated for 300+ pounds? ( Thanks in advance!)

Check your local outfitters - they usually refresh their fleet every couple of years - that's how I got my boat. Also, paddling.net has a great classifieds section. And I've heard craigslist is good, but take care that you don't buy a stolen boat!

Paddling.net as stated above. My buddy has had a few good experiences (including one great road trip for us) buying used.

I worked at a kayak and outdoor specialty store for a few years while going to school, I would recommend putting out some feelers at your local store and let them know what you're looking for and to give you a call if anything comes in. As much as they want to sell you a brand new kayak with all the fixings they are also usually paddlers too and can understand wanting to save some dough on a gently used kayak.

As an employee of one of these places you get to know all the local paddlers and you'd be surprised how many people bring in their kayaks to try to trade or sell them.

Paddling.net is definitely another great viable option as well! Craigslist gives me the willie nillies though!
