Hi...

I remember an outfit called FoldBoat. Haven't seen them advertised in a while. Their product seemed to look like a canoe. Has anybody heard of them?

The Dalai Lama went into a pizza joint. The server asked him what he wanted. He replied "Can you make me one with everything"?

Folbot: Folding Kayaks & Folding Boats from Folbot

They have been around forever, and they used to publish a free book of trips that people and taken in their boats. It was called "Fabulous Folbot Holidays", and I think I have a copy floating around someplace that I got back in the mid-70's.

They are a sort of folding skin-on-frame kayak, and their new boats are much more kayak-like that the originals, as best as I recall.

Their website has a lot of info, and pricing is not terribly far out of line with similar boats.

Quality inflatables like Aire are great for moving water, but get blown around on flat water and are slow. The old Foldboats were great, and the new frame boats are also. The quality ones are expensive, but light weight and can be stored in a closet or an RV. They are durable enough for river trips.

Royalex. Much lighter than aluminum and when paddling in the sun you won't burn yourself if you touch the hull. Quieter, faster, tougher.
