Default Arctic wind

I am pretty sure that for the last two days you could step outside and fly with all the wind we have had. Last night it really sounded like the roof might come off. After all these unseasonably warm temperatures 50 mph wind gusts at 26 degrees is a bit chilly for my tastes!

My porch chairs are in the yard. I kept putting them back, but the wind seem to have other ideas. Man, that wind made it feel so bitterly cold today. I thought I could stay in, but I had to go out more than I thought I would.

Having lived in Wyoming the mere mention of the term "Arctic Wind" is terrifying. It is a place where people use an anchor chain for a wind gauge. Never open both doors of the pick-up at the same time or everything inside will be outdside.

Doing field work in the winter, we often checked each other for frostbite. It was minus 40 degrees F in the driveway, and winds often reached 60 mph. One hundred mph happened every once in a while.
