Default Capturing The Moment

Which is the best device use when capturing moments in your outdoor adventure, a still camera or video camera?

I like using still cameras because photos can tell a story in different ways wherein a video will just tell you exactly what happened.

I use both. I don't always take my video camera, but my still camera lives in my day pack, which attaches to a larger weekender pack so I always have it. It will do 30 second videos with sound too in a pinch.

I always use my video camera as it can capture photos too. I don't need a separate equipment for me to take photos. I know that some still cameras have really nice resolutions but I'm after the experience and the memory, although having a nice and crisp picture is a bonus.

I use both but mostly still camera. I take as many pics as I can and then the fun at home is editing through and keeping the best shots I try to take as much video as I can too.... but sometimes I completely forget to use it.

I have never used a video camera before and I tend to be a little accident prone/clumsily, whatever you want to call it. I am far from graceful, but I do manage to get some laughs outta it too.

My camera does both still and video, when we upgraded we made sure it had both capabilities. Sometimes each has its own purpose but worse case scenario, still is better than nothing.

I take my camera more often. It holds up better to the outdoors then the video camera does. If I break the video camera the wife will kill me too.
