Default Daylight Savings Time

I HATE this spring forward, fall back stuff! I have disliked it more and more the older I get. I honestly don't see the point since we have electricity these days and I absolutely hate that it gets dark almost before the kids get home from school.

I don't like the shorter days either. But, I really like that it stays daylight longer in the summer time. Makes it nice to do things outside as the day cools down just a little.

For some reason it has always been harder for me to 'fall back'. You would think that would be easier since you get an extra hour of sleep but not me. Oh and I hate that it gets dark so soon too.

I usually don't trek very far,
when all around me black bears are.

Hi...

Daylight "savings" time no longer has any use. Some states do not use it. The powers (idiots) that be should pick one and stick with it year around...!!

Roger...have you been fooling with the plutonium again?

DST needs to go. It's just annoying and serves no practical purpose. It's time to catch up with the rest of the world and drop it.

I never mind it now that I have invested in all clocks that change themselves, but then this morning I found the one at my work needed set. If I do not have to do anything other than sleep for the change I am good to go.

I've never understood the concept of Daylight Saving. If you fall back, it means the average person awakes in the Fall and Winter and it is already daylight. This means you've already thrown some of the daylight away.

In the Winter, it is stone dark by five o'clock. Where is the "saved" daylight here? You already pissed it away in the morning. What this causes is greater power consumption in the evening as opposed to the morning. You can't save daylight and you can't save power consumption by changing the clock.

If it were up to me, I'd add another hour in winter- I hate coming home from work and having no daylight at all. I suppose I could start going to work at 6 am instead of 7, but i'm probably still end up leaving work at 5... :-s

All I know is that a sundial has to be canted about fifteen degrees in the Summer for it to be accurate.
