Default Dogs versus Cats

Personally, I'm a dog lover, as are the rest of my blood relatives. My husband and all of his family, on the other hand, all prefer cats.

Which do you prefer?

Dogs by far. I'm allergic to cats, plus Cats seem like high class rats to me. I've only seen a few in my life that were any fun. Most of the time cats are just lurking around. To me, Dogs have more of a personality, try to communicate more and seem like they are always looking to please you. You never heard of a cat taking down a bad ass perpetrator!

I like both but it's a different kind of admiration. I like cats for their ability to be gentle and playful in their own way. I like dogs because of their integrity and friendship.

I've killed a lot of cats, one that outweighed me. I've also shot some dogs that weren't wild. I prefer dogs. My current canine is a red wolf. But I have a ranch and cats have their place. A good mousing barn cat is a blessing. I lost one last year named Soot. She was thirteen and a real character. Now I have her daughter, Ghost.

Neither...I rate them both right up there with X-wives.

Wow! That's pretty rough even for a cat.

Put me in the neither category as well. I know it's un-American, but I'm not a pet person. That isn't to say I hate animals, I just don't want any myself. I have no patience for people who choose to have a pet, and neglect it.

I agree with what Ponderosa says about people who neglect their pets, but I couldn't live without mine! I have two dogs that I love as much as most people love their children. They ARE like children to me!

We love then both. We've got a dog that followed my BF home, a tomcat that belonged to his ex and a kitten we found in the middle of the street. The dog and the tom are both bossed around by the kitten but are scared of each other. Go figure.
