We live in a rural area too. We regularly see just about every wild animal that lives in our area. We feed deer out back in our yard, we see fox occasionally, we see raccoons often and turkeys everywhere. We also, unfortunately, see opposum on our porch eating our cat's food. Those suckers are hard to kill.

My mom has been having the same trouble with an opossum at her house. It sneaks up at night and eats her cats food. The cat used to live in the house, and one time my parents watched my sisters cat while she was on vacation. Their cat really didn't like my sisters cat, so she moved out and never would go back in the house, that was probably ten years ago.

Back in the summer my in-laws were having trouble with raccoons and foxes sneaking up at night and getting food from a bird feeder that was sitting on a post. I wouldn't have believed it, but she has several pictures. I didn't think raccoons or foxes would be interested in bird food.

We saw a few deer in the backyard earlier today and we constantly see turkeys. We have to wait for them to cross the road all the time. There are also coyotes that wander at night.
