Default The Presidential Mountain Range

I had the opportunity to backpack the Presidentials in the great White Mountains of New Hampshire. Although I didn't complete the entire traverse due to a knee injury it was still the trip of my life time. I managed to bag 3 high peaks over 5000 feet and one over 6000. It was by far the most extreme hike that I have ever done.

Sounds good. But why is it called thePresidential Mountain Range? Does it make a lot of promises it can't keep?
