Who's been to Death Valley

Anyone here has been to Death Valley National Park? Could you please show some of your photos? When is the best time to go there? I don't think I would be going in summer. But what do you recommend?

Well I've been there, but don't have much advice. We made the grave mistake of going in August. We were hitting several other California NPs, and thought we'd hit Death Valley as well. We camped the entire trip, and stupidly planned to camp there as well. We pulled in around midnight, and were horrified when we got out of the car to find that it was still over 100 degrees. Pretty miserable night. It is a fascinating place though, and we intend to go back sometime. Our next trip will definitely be in early spring, for the wildflowers and before it is too hot for hiking. I think late Feb/early March is best most years. Have you seen the park website? There are some photos there, as well as lots of planning info:

Ponderosa - that sounds awful!!!

I'm hoping to make a Feb/March trip out there in the next year or two.
