OutdoorBasecamp.com is one of the fastest growing websites devoted to the outdoor enthusiasts consisting of hikers, paddlers, anglers and more. It is our goal to eventually become the largest outdoor enthusiast forum on the web.

What do you have to do to win a prize? Easy. All you have to do is participate in the community here at OutdoorBasecamp.com. And you can start the process today!

Here's how it will work:

We're installing a system to reward participation.
* You'll get points for checking in to the forum EVERY day
* You'll get points every time you start a thread
* More points every time you post in an existing thread
* Even more posts when you refer your friends to join OutdoorBasecamp.com forums
* You'll earn points for uploading photos to the Photo Gallery, using attachments, looking at others posts, looking at others photos
* Just generally participating in the OutdoorBasecamp.com community to its fullest extent

We will be awarding five winners. The first winner will be an Activity Award for the person who is most active in the community. The second is a Posting Award, for the person who just loves to talk to others in the community. The third is a Community Award for the person who helps out in the community with things like making new members feel welcome and sharing photos. To make things a bit more like a game of chance for the last two spots, we will randomly pick two names out of the contest members and award them a prize. It is also my hope to give out random OutdoorBasecamp.com T-Shirts and hats to random members.

Once the contest starts on June 01, 2009 you'll see your points on every post you make, and you'll even see special listings of the top post winners as well so you can keep track of your place. The contest will end on August 31, 2009. Winners will be announced on September 14, 2009.
Don't make it too complicated. Just participate in posts. Make new threads. Help others. Read, return, reply and you'll see your points adding up all along.

PS. Naturally, we'll be on the lookout for sandbaggers. Folks that start non-sense threads. People that post "me too" posts. Folks that join up under another username to gain referral points. These are all no-nos that will get you kicked out of the contest. So don't bother trying.
One more thing should be mentioned: The contest system we are installing is fairly complex. Many of the calculations will not be visible in the point listings. We don't wish to create a huge administrative process to award the prizes. Disputes will be mediated by the website's Administration and no one else. All decisions made in this process are final and not up for arbitration. The goal will be to make this as fair and fun as possible. Anger, fights, disputes arising out of the process will obviously work counter to this "fun" goal and are not appreciated nor will they be tolerated.
