Smile Got a new Kodiak Flex-Bow Tent For Christmas

My son is in Cub Scouts and we have started camping together. In need of a car camping tent, I found many great reviews on Kodiak Flex-Bow Tents. We got a 10x10 Flex-bow and set it up on Christmas morning for his final big surprise gift. My son spent most of the day playing in the tent with his new toys. It appears to be very well made and I was overall very impressed with the tent after I set it up for the first time. We had a 7 hour rain event overnight as well and it was dry inside and out the next morning. Looking forward to taking it on our next pack or den camp out or even just a family backyard campout soon.

Very nice! Kids are so captivated by tents; my kids used to beg me to put them up at home, and would spend hours playing in them. Setting the tent up for Christmas was a great idea.

Congrats. It is always great to find a nice tent that can stay dry through downfalls. Were you able to get a pretty good deal on it since you bought it in the off season?

I looked online for deals for about a month before purchasing. Not much bargains that I could find out there in November for the model i got, 6010. Almost got an inexpensive 'new' one on eBay but lost last second bidding and shipping would have cost a lot anyway. I also began to worry how one may have been stored from someone selling it on eBay too. Went to cabelas web site and ordered it with small coupon for some off shipping plus I knew I could return it if problem. It was packed without two 'male' buckles on the tent bag and cabelas sent two matching ones in the mail 1-2 weeks later. Great service there!

I like the idea of springbar's screen enclosure for their tent --for use in buggy South Carolina! I know kodiak does not offer this. Has anyone ever tried using a springbar screen? How about trying theirs on a flex-bow. The awning measurements are similar but not exactly same. Any other ideas?

I tried to post image/URL but I need 15 posts
See their accesory website -- I called Kodiak and they have no plans to do this
"Canopy Screen Enclosures--If you camp in areas where the bugs are particularly bothersome, here's an accessory you won't want to be without! If you own a Deluxe Springbar tent with a front canopy (Campsite, Traveler or Family Camper), you can get a screen enclosure to fit it. These enclosures are designed to fit snugly against the tent walls an as close to the ground as possible. Made of superfine no-see-um netting."

This may not be effective if no see-ums/mosquitos get under netting etc. But maybe worth a try?
