Default Happy to be here..

Hello!
My name is Sharon and my family (DH and two kids DS 7 and DD 5 ) are new comers to the beautiful outdoors. We participated in a state program back in Oct called Texas Outdoor Family. The program provides a weekend of camping with a group of families and a couple of rangers for the low price of $50 (80% of gear is included). Fantastic program!!

We had a blast and trekked out on our own for the first time this weekend and had another great weekend. Next trip is booked for Memorial weekend.

Looking forward to learning and sharing with y'all

Welcome Sharon! I have learned a lot about camping from families near my campsite. We look forward to hearing about your camping experiences with such a young family especially from your area of the country. We don't hear too much about Texas on this site.

The kids LOVED it. The SP had volunteers
who ran different activities every few hours
during the two days. We were able to sample
Geocaching, kayaking, fishing, Dutch oven cooking class,
nature trail activities, stargazing and a session where they took us
and helped us identify sounds that we might hear at night.

It was a such a great weekend.
