Default Howdy from Montana...

Hello,
My name is Dog_paddle. I am an outdoors enthusiast from Montana. I enjoy whitewater kayaking, and multi-day river trips (canoe or kayak), hiking, wildlife watching and am really into primitive skillls and bushcraft. I try to harvest all the meat (Elk & Deer) that my family eats.

About me, I am an outfitter and guide for various wilderness adventures in the Yellowstone Park region. I have been a professional guide for 17 years- guiding big game hunting, dog-sledding, rafting, canoeing and horse packing adventures throughout the Northern Rockies. I live a remote lifestyle in the mountains with my wife and young son. We have 48 dogs (Alaskan Huskies and Karelian Bear Dogs) and love to be outside with them.

You have 48 dogs? You spend a lot of time hunting, don't you?

You still getting snow? I heard some places over there got snow a week or so back. Cannot remember if Montana was on the list or not.

Dog-paddle? where are you located? Bozeman? Although the snow is melting in the valleys here, we are still getting flurrys nearly every day. Mid July may still be too early to get into the higher elevations. Snow is still heavy from 6000 ft up.

Welcome dog_paddle! I DO NOT Miss The Snow! I grew up in Ohio on Lake Erie and am glad my last duty station was at Ft. Stewart Ga. I just never left.

I live in the mountains near Bozeman (37 miles southeast)...about the same distance from Gardiner...but northwest of that town. I live in the mountains in between Emigrant and Livingston basically. I live about 18 miles down a rough dirt road...lol...not too close to any town, but not too far from several.
