Default Howwwdeee

I am from Florida, not a Native, and I so enjoy the Outdoors since I work in an Office setting 60 + hours a week, I have logged in many miles and hope to continue for many years to come. I am an avid enthusiast of the Great Smokey Mountains But after completing all the trails in the park for the third time and some trails a lot more times; I am starting to venture elsewhere, I just did a trip to Wyoming and leaving next week for a two week trip to Utah & Arizona. BUT, my heart is still in the Smokies

Welcome Chief, saw your Teton pics, great, was there a couple weeks ago myself. When you discover you can walk all over the Tetons from the Jed Smith without the hassle of the park permits, plus all the other fringe areas around the tourist traps, like Lamebeaver said, you will be converted to the West.

I have been out west many, many times, but it cost. so, I hold those trip down usually to one a year. this year is special so I'm, doing two, next year i'm looking at two out west and one a little further north. as to the Tetons , we just about had the mountain range to ourselves. I spent a month in alaska & I thought the tetons were way grander.

I usually don't trek very far,
when all around me black bears are.

Welcome aboard, Chief...

If you would like to see some forever wild forests and lakes, please consider the Adirondak Mountains right here in New York State. Great for hiking, fishing, camping, boating/canoeing,etc.

In fact, you might want to Google "Nessmuk" to get a feel for the area in the late 1800s/ early 1900s. Interesting fellow...he knew how to travel REALLY light...!!
