Default bottled water

We take this on trips and I am wondering, besides the actual wrap for the plastic and containers, is there any real difference? How can you tell good bottle water from bad bottled water?

Maybe just by tasting and smelling. Pure water is odorless and has no flavor. The problem is they come in plastic bottles that leak chemicals into the water. I have my doubts about Dasani water. I think it tastes awful, plus it is made by a soda company who produces one of the most non-nutritional beverages. I guess researching is the way to find out what's good or bad.

I've bought some store brands before and they had a terrible after-taste to them. I'm not sure why. I try to pure spring water, there are so many types of bottled water out there now. Vitamin water, purified water, water with added things, etc..

As to leaching, each plastic bottle has a code symbol on the bottom, which tells which plastics are used and the amount of leaching involved. Many are safe to use, some are one time only, avoid others, etc.

Mrs. Coz buys the Nestle brand H2O, it is our favorite.
I don't know why though, we have our own well down to the 2nd water table, is is the best tasteing by far and is somewhat free.
We have tried different brands, some are okay and some are just aweful.
Aquafina is Houston tap water run through a swimming pool filter before being bottled. <gag>

If you aren't sure about the bottled water then you can boil it to make it safer to drink. I'm not a picky person so I will drink any kind of bottled water as long as it is sealed.

Thanks for that! I know someone who makes films for some water bottles but its not the bottle part, its just the wrapping around it. I might have to check w/him to see what he knows too.

Dasani is actually one of my favorite brands! We buy all of our drinking water because the water out of the tap here is disgusting and often oddly colored. Our previous home had a well and that was the best water ever!

Sometimes I don't trek very far,
when all around me bottled waters are.

I've read many articles on the subject of bottled water. Much...if not most of it...comes from CITY WATER...!! With a pretty label attached. It might make many claims as to its "purity"...and MAY have some additives...but, in my experienced opinion, is no better than most (but not all) tap water.

But, if it makes you feel better paying for your water by the litre, good for you.

Incidently, I've done water testing for real estate transactions, and in other instances, for over eighteen years.
