Default Camp Coffee Maker

I am sick of using a pot to boil water for coffee when I am making it over the fire. What types of coffee pots are good for making coffee when camping?

If you want to spoil yourself this year then you should get this Colman Coffee maker from Amazon. It is $50 bucks but its awesome.

I just use an ancient aluminum percolator. My mom used it when we went camping as a kid. I'm carrying on the tradition. I know it's sort of lowbrow nowadays, with all the fancy coffee presses and espresson machines and so forth, but I always kinda liked percolator coffee.

Totally worth $50 if you ask me. I love being able to sit around and watch the sun come up while sipping on my cup of coffee.

I'm with the WV fisherman, good old percolator, let er perk awhile so your spoon can stand up on it's own. Good stuff.

Take a large sauce pan and fill 3/4 full of water.
Add one large hand full of coffee grounds and a old horseshoe.
Bring to rolling boil.
Remove from heat when horseshoe floats to top.
Pour into tin coffee cups and strain grounds through teeth.
Best coffee ever!
Hope this helps,
DC

I'm not quite up to the "float a horseshoe" level of coffee yet, but on the other hand, I'm not from Texas LOL.

One of my luxuries is taking half and half along on camping trips. As outdoorchick said, one of life's little pleasure is to sit with a cup of coffe in hand and watch the world come awake.

Blue and white speckled percolater minus the guts.
Coleman makes one readily available most places, if you don't have your grandma's.
I don't mind a few grounds and just don't let it burn over.
