Judy, First how far from fridge to campsite. Once the dough has risen enough it needs to go into the oven. Second, the jiggling with the car in motion may alter the rising process. She wouldn't do it. She said she has even mixed the dough and let it rise right in the dutch oven before.

And (laughing) why am I in the middle of this conversation? Those stairs are steep for an old feller.

PEPSIGAL sorry if Judy and I ran away with your thread. Have you tried the recipe section in the forums. Some great ideas there. Theres a lot of great cooks in here by the sound of the recipes.

That's fine. I had some interesting thoughts while reading that thread and thanks for the links to the dutch oven recipes. I have never cooked with one and didn't want to do it wrong.
