Default Chilling Melons

Does anyone chill melons anymore like we do? I put either a watermelon or cantaloupe in a nearby stream that has about an arms length of running water in it. There's nothing like a cold slice of watermelon when you're out in the camp.

Yeah, we've done that. Put it in the water before you start the fire to cook and by the time you get done it's just right. Kids love watermelon, well, they love anything that makes a mess. LOL

Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds perfect for hot summer days!

Isn't that the truth. I have even took a net and put a melon in the river where it was deep. Just tie the net to a nearby tree and let it chill. Mmmmmm good eating on a hot summer day!
