Anyone have a chiminia? We just bought one last night and I’m excited to use it. The kids can’t wait to roast marshmallows in it. My hubby said we have to season it first – something like only burning papers in it at first (and only a few for a small fire). Then the next day a small fire with kindling wood and papers. The third day we can get a roaring fire in it. I think he is silly! Anyone know anything about this?

I'm pretty sure he is correct. You have to season all new chimneys - burn off the new. You have to start small and build up - or at least that is what my dad and hubby both day!

I honestly don't know anything about them but that would sound like the right idea. Start gradually and let the ceramic body get used to the fire. I would rather be cautious than to break a new toy the first thing off the bat.
