Default Freeze dried foods

Freeze dried foods are pretty much a staple for back packing because they are so light weight and easy to prepare, but they sure taste lousy, don't you think?

The freeze dried foods of today are nectar and ambrosia compared to the stuff of the 1970's when I first encountered them.

The ones from Backpacker's Pantry are actually quite good and even have decent portion size. I haven't done a lot of backpacking in a long time so I haven't tried other brands yet).

We've tried some of those freeze dried foods so I understand what you're talking about. I'll have check out the ones from Backpacker's Pantry and see how they are. Hopefully they are much better then most.

They sure beat carrying weight when backpacking. I prefer Mt House but haven't tried BP. Some of the other brands leave taste to be desired. As for Mt House, there are some I don't like, some that are okay and some I really look forward to at the end of a long day.
