Default Just wondering...

I was wondering what is the 5 items you would never be caught without when camping. The tent and sleeping bags should be a given for everybody, but what I want to know are those items that make your camping easier or more special.

Along with the tent and sleeping bag, I wouldn't want to be without both matches and a lighter (as backup) and definitely my Swiss army knife but what makes it special for me is first and foremost my family and friends.
Oh yeah and my coffee.

@waverider365, you are completely right. Forgetting coffee could be not only dangerous but uncivilized. :-) I would have to say that my kids will insist on making sure I don't forget the marshmallows. Most importantly never forget the toilet paper.

Well, I never know when I'm going to have to camp. So, my vehicle always has a 1) a canteen of water 2) knives of various purpose 3) blankets 4) towels and 5) toilet paper. Those are my five items. Since I always have a gun and my Swiss army knife on my person, I can make a pretty fair camp even though I hadn't planned it.

My sensible, practical answer has to be - a torch, matches/lighter, bottled water, a knife, a compass and a blanket. My five luxury items would be - coffee, Kendal Mint Cake, a bottle of single malt, a camera and Viggo Mortensen to keep me warm (failing him a hot water bottle).

Let's see....five must have items.....rain gear, matches, hiking boots, a metal cup, and an axe. I find that there are many acceptable substitutes for the TP!

I would have to say a good straight blade knife, my dog, an American flag, flint, and T.P.
