Default Man that was good!!

MAN THAT WAS GOOD!! That's what George has been saying. Me too. Excuse me if this ends up book length. I had a cpl beers while watching the ball game and a nip or two from the mustard bottle that is about 60% bourbon and the rest water.
I brought a R.R. sweet potatoe shepards pie recipe down about a year ago. We of course read the recipe and do what we want with it. We have made this with 4 different meats and 4 diff veggies. Every time we improve a bit on something. Tonights was the best ever. Did I say Man that was good. Tonight we had ham, cauliflower, pineapple, onion, cream of celery soup, and cream of mushroom with garlic soup all mixed together and cooked. We then spread the sweet potatoes George had diced, cooked, and mashed over the top, and then covered it with habenero cheese. We stuck this monster pan in the 450 degree oven for about 25 minutes while we watched some football and had a beer. After a bit I looked at the clock and says George we got 2 min. and it will be done, Lets go, I'm hungry. Well we commences to go out to the kitchen, I may have gone to the bathroom. I come back and George says I need some help. He is struggleing with this big cast iron skillet in the oven. He has a bunch of pot holders just for iron skillet handles. I help him get the skillet straight so he can lift it out but man that potholder is hot. Whatcha spect at 450 degrees. He gets 2 new potholders and lifts it out. MMMM does that smell good. We fill our plates and he says, is that all your eating. I only have one big spoon less than usual. We crush some cornbread over top and just watch and smell as it cools. Being the impatient fellows we are the first bite or two was hot but Man was it good. We ate, drooled, and patted each other on the back then ate, drooled, and patted each other on the back again. It took us awhile (maybe 15 minutes) but we emptied those plates, licked our lips and said MAN THAT WAS GOOD.We outdid ourselves again. That was delish. Did I say, MAN THAT WAS GOOD.

Man, if that wasn't good they have some major problems cause the ingredients were unexpected. Are you going to share your recipe charlie? Wait. Was it really good?!

I never really use or have a recipe for things like that. I did put curry, cayyenne, and garlic in it.

Am I understanding this right? You put the ham, cauliflower, pineapple, onion, and all the soups in the pan and then top it with the mashed sweet potatoes? I've had regular shepard's pie, but never anything like this. It sounds really interesting.

Yes Bumpkin that's what we did. We were sposed to put 2 packs of green and yellow beans in it also but we were watching football and they got forgotten. I think this started with a Rachel Ray recipe that used ground turkey and maybe corn. We have used chunks of chicken breast, hamburger, and ham. The original recipe calleed for making a gravy that used lots of butter as well as meat drippings. We eat alot but that sounded too fattening so we have changed it and found the cream soups work well. It is sposed to be made in layers and that is what we did before but this time we wanted the ham to cook a little and the soups to thicken a little so we put it in the skillet together and one of us cooked that while the other cut up, microwaved, mashed, and seasoned the sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes are spread on top and then covered with cheese and finally bake in 450 oven for 25 minutes. You are just melting the cheese and mixing flavors in the oven. We did season it well too.
