Default Mini Wood Stove

I've seen things similar to this, but on a larger scale. This was something we found at a civil war re-enactment. Bot sides have lids like you see on the right, or it has a pot designed to fit right on top like you see on the left. The guy said there were pans made with a little lip on the bottom to fit right over the top openings too. I thought it was pretty cool.

Hi...

That certainly is a unique stove...pure genius...!!

What is that "appendage" jutting out on its bottom right side? A forced air blower?

NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!

The fuel door is open

This is a perfect little tent stove for those big wall tents with a stovepipe fixture.

That is pretty cool and small so it would be perfect to take camping. I love how it looks like every inch of the stove has a purpose. - genius! I wonder where you would find something like that now? Antique shop - I'm thinking.

There is a company out there, I think from So. Africa that makes backpacking weight tents designed for tiny stoves. They would work great on a float trip or on a donkey.

Karhu??

The one I found was at a civil war re-enactment. It was in a swap meet for the people who participate in them, not for visitors. I'm assuming sense everything is supposed to be time period, so I'm guessing it is from that time, or a reproductions. That all said and done, I would check yard sales, flea markets and other places. Antique shop screams $$$$$$$$$ to me.

Seems like you could build one of those easier than you could find one.

There's a lot of casting in building one of those, probly a better welding project out of 1/4" plate for most DIYers. But definitely cool.

Well it depends on what you really want out of a finished product. If you insist on cast iron, yeah, 1/4" plate. Any metal could be used if all you're looking for is function.
