Default Polly Wolly Doodle

I'm not sure why I thought of this tonight except we were sitting around talking about camping plans earlier. Anyway, we do sing songs sometimes, but the silliest one I think I've heard was Polly Wolly Doodle. We laughed more than we sang. What's the silliest song you've sung around the campfire?

"I Like to go a-Wandering" - not so silly maybe - but we sang it in Latin ! It was on one of my first camping trips ever - it was a school trip and our latin teacher was one of the supervisors.

My favorite silly song was back in scouts when we did "Singing in the Rain". All you sing is the chorus, and each time you add another physical movement. It's great fun and gets everyone laughing and forgetting about being soaked by the rain.

Here's a link: Singing in the Rain - Scout Song No. 925 of 735

A kid's song called There's a Hole at the Bottom of the Sea...

A drunken chorus of "There's a hole , there's a hole, there's a hole at the bottom of the sea" was the one part everyone sang along.

It really got raucaus, and sheesh did we laugh.

There's always the "99 bottles of beer on the wall", except you change it to go with whatever you did that day: "99 piles of rocks left to climb", or "99 kettles of fish in the pond", or even "99 puddles of rain in my tent" on a particularly rainy evening.
