Default Putting Out the Fire

I know this sounds silly, but you can never be too careful in making sure that the fire is out. Especially in very dry conditions! There are just too many forest fires that are caused by carelessness. Just make sure you have enough water with you to properly saturate your fire, and double-check to make sure that it is completely out!

Here's a thought. Drink the water and pee on the fire.

We must be responsible to put fires dead out.....I remember reading SMOKEY the BEAR signs every time I seen one, and still have an eye for them today at my old age.

Another thought is if it is really dry don't have a fire. I use a stove when backpacking and don't really need a fire. I like one as I find it relaxing to watch it but don't need it to cook.
