Default Really Nice Article On Drying Fruit

I found a really nice article on using your oven to dry fruit and to make fruit leather.

Vocalpoint - Dry your own fruit

You can also do this with a gas oven just using the pilot light. Just follow the above instructions to prepare the fruit and place in the oven. The pilot light should provide just enough heat to dry the fruit or the fruit leather.

That's a nice set of instructions, Scotty. Thanks for that. I may be trying some apples here in the next few days, we just went to the orchard and got a bushel for me to make some apple butter with, but I may save a few to use for drying. My bunch loves fried apple pies in the winter time and you need dried apples for that.

That's a good one, Scotty, thanks! I never thought of drying fruits in an oven. This is a novel idea and a good one to practice when there are plenty of fresh fruits around.
