Default Stone Soup

On my last high school camping, our camp leader made us make stone soup with all the vegies we had left on the last day. We were camped by a small river and they told us to pick and clean some stones. I almost didn't want to taste it but for curiosity sake, I did. It wasn't bad after all.

LoL, I'm not so sure about that, was it some sort of joke? You actually ate it? Just what were the stones suppose to do (besides break a tooth)?

Don't you know the old story of stone soup? The boy doesn't have anything to eat so he boils stone soup says how good it smells, and then all the neighbors come and put their little bits of veggies and meat in there and they have a feast.

There was a restaurant near Mt Snow VT that used to make a stone soup of sorts. It was basically made of scraps from their kitchen and it was free and usually delicious (though once in a while I'll pull out the end of a carrot with the roots still on)
