Default Sumac lemonade

Sumac berries are ready in late summer. Simply snip 15 -20 clusters put in a large pot with about a gallon of cold water. Smash and rub up the berries so that the flavor will come out. This takes a while, you may want to take turns with the kids. After you've smashed and mutilated all the berries. Strain the liquid and sweeten to taste with the sweetener of your choice.

This is an awesome drink to make while camping. You can send the kids out to pick the berries... The berries must be RED. Red sumac is not poisonous only the rare white sumac berries are poison.
