Tent camping with the car not too far away works well for me. Traveling alone I feel a little safer in state parks with rangers in the area.

I like the outside kind of camping with good fishing and few bears. Although, I'm dying (ok poor choice of words) to taste them.

Backpacking is a means to an end. If I could drive to a beautiful mountain lake teaming with fish and be the only one for miles in any direction, that would be wonderful, but it's not going to happen.
