Default What's Your Favorite Trail Mix?

I make my own. I use granola bars broken up with almonds, toasted pecans, unsweetened coconut flakes, M&Ms, peanuts, dried fruit (whatever I have laying around) and yogurt covered peanuts. It suits me and I usually have most of the ingredients at home. So what's your favorite?

Whatever ceral is in the house (cheerios (any and all kinds), Froot loops, Cinamon toast crunch, and the like) raisins and other dried fruit, M&Ms or chocolate chips, peanuts. I have read of those who do the low carb thing useing jerky in place of the chocolate; I might for a true trail mix add jerky to the mix for a higher protien level to the mix.

I don't care much about what I eat and how it taste as long as it has enough calories and is nutritious for the road. So, in my case it can be anything I get my hands on.

My wife actually uses oats that you are supposed to cook for breakfast and makes her own granola clusters. It's really good and then we all everything else we like. I love banana chips and dried pineapple, she likes raisins and dried cherries. Then everything else we can find in the house. It's pretty good.

I make a batch every few months, never the same I just hit the store and get everything from candy to the all natural isle. Usually costs me over 50 bucks but all said and done I bag it for less than 25 cents each.

Wally worlds Mountain trail mix. One 28 oz fills 5 snack size ziplocks with just enough left over to munch on while I repackage. I take one bag for each day on the trail as a hiking snack.

I make my own granola from oats, wheatgerm, nuts, dried fruit and sometimes a little bit of dark chocolate. I toast the oats, wheatgerm and nuts, then coat in a corn syrup (not to beconfused with the "evil" High fructos cornsyrup) honey blend that I've boiled on the stove and bake in the oven until it's nicely brown. Then I add the dry fruit , usually raisins Cherries and cranberries. When the mix is cool I add a few dark chocolate pieces.

This is light weight but gives you a ton of energy on the trail. I only eat this when hiking because it has a lot of calories and if you're not burning it off, this mix will just make you fat(er)
