Wild mushroom omelette

One of the best meals I ever had was in the middle of a forest. It was simply eggs taken that day from free range chickens, mixed with some chopped wild garlic and freshly picked and chopped wild Chanterelle mushrooms. This was cooked in a frying pan with a little butter over an open fire and it tasted out of this world!

I've done that but I was near a lake and caught some bluegill, fileted them, fried them and added them to the omelette along with cheese, onions, green pepper, tomatoes, and the wild mushrooms. I always have called it a bluegill omelette but I guess I should have given some billing to the Morels.

I think that you have to be very careful when it comes to eating wild mushrooms. Just make sure you pick the kind you can eat. You would not want to get sick, accidentally trip or die even.

That sounds really good. We don't usually do many omelets while camping, but I'd love to make this. Thanks for sharing the ideas of adding the fish as well!
