Not sure. I have to figure up the materials cost (grips, rubber tips, cord) and then I'll let you know. If you seriously want a pair, I'd be happy to make them.

Got a few things in the works right now, but maybe down the line. You can PM me with any details whenever you get the time. Thanks!

I always thought that hiking poles were for people with too much money, until I tried them this year backpacking. They are a great help for balance when carrying a pack, and help the old knees noticeably. I use ski poles.

Hi...

Good job. Looks like you made good use of materials at hand. I couldn't imagine myself paying those high prices for those store-bought ones, either.

The ones I have are tapered military surplus adjustable-height ski poles w/rubber hand grips and heavy nylon (I think) hand straps. Have no recollection of what I paid for them, but it had to be much less than those factory-made ones cost.

Wish there was bamboo growing around here...!!

While on the AT during the Thanksgiving holidays, I was using the bamboo and my girlfriend was using her $125 Leki's (she won them at an event). We traded off for a bit, and after half an hour she confessed that she liked mine better. I have to make her a set now.

Very nice work Newanderthal. As bamboo has so many uses from building materials, to clothing, I'm glad to see another example of practical use.
