Default Buying Used Gear?

Do you buy used gear? Sometimes I scout auction sites and outdoors forums for used gear and you can be surprised what I find there. But in general I like having new stuff even if used gear is almost in top condition. It's a good feeling having a new thing.

Sometimes I will search the eBay for stuff but I usually won't rely on buying important gear there. I, like you, enjoy fresh out of the box feeling.

I don't mind used if it's in good condition. You can save a lot this way.

Good quality used gear is always better than new stuff from China. You have to know what youu are looking at.

I'm a fan of getting most anything used but there are some things I won't get used. I wouldn't feel good about a used sleeping bag. Yes I know you can just clean it but it would just give me the creeps.

Ppine nailed it, for me. It's a case by case decision based on quality and condition.

Hi...

I've gotten many used...and unused...military surplus items, many of which I've put to good use.
