Default Head lamp

One thing my hubby asked for this Christmas that I forgot about is a head lamp, primarily for walking through the woods to set up the tree stand. Can anyone recommend a good one that's not too expensive?

Mine is a Ray-O-Vac and I like it pretty good, but now they have multi-LED lights that clip onto the brim of a ball cap and last a lot longer on smaller batteries. Some of my search and rescue buddies have them and they're pretty light and convenient.

I agree with Parker. I've had several headlamps, including some pricey ones from the likes of Princeton Tec. I have found, however, that the 5-LED light that attaches to the brim of my cap is effective enough and more comfortable to wear.

I love my Princeton Tec.

I've owned (and still own) many headlamps. In my opinion the best of the bunch is the Black Diamond Storm.

My favorite is my Petzl Myo 3, but I know a lot of people and have used those Ray-o-vacs myself and they seem to be very sturdy and well built.

Energizer from Walmart. $20 and it's three years old. Still has the same batteries.

I have an inexpensive headlamp from Coleman that I bought for less than twenty bucks. I've been using it for two years, and it's still on the same batteries.

It isn't nearly as bright as a lot of fancy and expensive headlamps, but it works just fine. I figure that if I can walk around in the woods with it on an overcast night and see perfectly fine, there's no need for a brighter one.

Any lamp with LED lights. Cycle the switch. Some are hard to turn off.

Another vote for the Ray-o-Vac.

Mine has two red LEDs one white LED and a krypton spot. Works great and takes 3AAA batteries.

You can get them at K-Mart.
