Default Mountainsmith Gear?

Has anyone tried some of the Mountainsmith backpacks or lumbarpacks? I've seen awesome reviews on their stuff and I was wondering are they true or not.

Agree with Refrigerator while I don't have any of their packs have friends that do. They had a problem once and Mountain Smith shipped them a new pack over night. The issue was a minor one and they ended up having two packs. They sure made sure my buddy was happy with his gear.

My main backpack is a Mountainsmith and I love it - got lucky and got it for a really good price from REI, too.

I don't have their backpack but I use their Vibe II lumbar pack or as some would say a fanny pack. I know I know, but if you only knew how cool it looks you wouldn't laugh.

My main pack is a MS. Very comfortable, very durable, but like with say, hiking boots, fit is on an individual basis. What might work for me might not work for you, so while I can't comment on fit, I can say that it does perform well over a period of quite a few seasons.

Durable, well built and no issues so far.

I hear their gear is manufactured from recycled material, which is always good but to me that sounds more like a marketing move than anything else.

I had a backpacking pack by Mountainsmith that served me well for many years. I didn't like all of the straps on it. Some I couldn't even figure out the purpose, but that was that model. I'm sure newer ones may not have the same issue. The pack itself was very durable.

My daypack is Mountainsmith and it's been a workhorse for me for many years . I even carry my chainsaw in it for trail work trips and it holds up. Practically bombproof.

have a lumbar pack . love it , but the suspenders are a must if packing it heavy ( maps , basic survival stuff and 2 bottles of water).
the buckle/ belt seems to slip a lot . the suspenders make it very comfortable.
