Hi..
I've given that question a lot of thought. I've finally decided that such an item in my BOB would have to be a Y-shaped slingshot. Presently I carry a home made one, but will replace it with a store bought one.
I usually don't carry a firearm when I'm afield, so, if necessary, such a slingshot can be used to take small animals/birds in an emergency.
The hollow surgical-type tubing used for same can also be used to get water from crevices, holes dug next to streams, etc. Also for a tournequet.
Caution: NEVER hold a slingshot in front of your face when aiming it...!! | I was at Menard's today and walked through the section where they have toys for pets. I seen an extremely large slingshot used to launch tennis balls. This is not the normal "Y" shaped slingshot, but it's designed like the Wrist Rocket with a forearm support. I might have to get one to launch hand grenades!
