Default What's in your camping first aid kit?

I have bandages, gauze, white tape, alcohol wipes, aloe vera gel, latex gloves, ACE bandages, a small flash light and a pair of scissors. What do you have in your kit?

I have an Adventure Medical kit to which I've added two pairs of nitrile gloves. I've also secured the contents inside of a plastic bag that's inside the normal bag that comes with everything.

4x4 gauze pads, kerlix gauze wraps, band-aids, neosporin, alcohol wipes, baby wipes, ace bandage, betadine, oral airways, instant cold and instant hot packs, triangular bandages, large wound dressing, saran wrap, eye cup patch, eye loop and magnet, tweezers, fever thermometer, opthalmic ointment, hydrocortisone cream, benadryl, immodium, alleve, a few tylenol+ codiene, stethoscope, BP cuff, pedialyte salt packets, 2x500ml normal saline for irrigation, small tube of zinc oxide ointment, micro mag-light, Paramedic shears, bandage scissors, seat belt cutter, exact-o knife and spare blades, tongue depressors, wire splint, cloth adhesive tape, paper surgical tape, and plastic bandage tape, small bottle of green soap solution, a few other odds and ends that change from time to time. Believe it or not, I've had to use everything in there at least once.

Couple of bandaids, but then I hike a lot with Dr's and Nurses.

Actually, my backpacking kit is minimal, taking care of blisters, bites, swellings, and minor cuts and abrasions. Grandma's camping kit (just one of the many reasons I have to take the truck if she goes) is just shy a hospital operating room.

LOL I'm with Grandma. Besides, I always seem to come upon accidents along the road, and I always seem to be the only guy there with any sort of training :-S.

Heck, I was first on scene at an accident inside Disneyworld when we vacationed down there.... you might want to go someplace else, if you know I'm coming LOL.

One son-in-law was a corpman in the navy for 5 years, assigned to marines the whole time. When he left the Navy, he joined the Nat. Guard as a medic for 12 more years. Another S-I-L was a deputy sheriff for 14 years, emt trained, then quit, went back to school and got a BS in nursing, emergency room. One of those two is always with me unless I am soloing and they both carry major med kits. Including some invasive stuff they probably shouldn't.

When soloing, anything I can't handle with my backpacking kit is probably going to require a 911 call on my spot anyway.

Ahh I see. I was an EMT-B for 5 years, and have gotten some "informal" training above EMT. I'm prepared to do a few things that aren't exactly first aid, if necessary. You do what you have to do when help's a long way off.

A few band aids, some Advil, Aleve, Benadryl, and a roll of 2" elastic bandage.
