What's on your Christmas wish list?

I'm hoping that Santa will bring me a new dutch oven and several pair of high quality wool socks. It doesn't take much to make me happy

My Christmas wish is that everyone has a good Christmas. I've been shopping and for the most part, I see people of all races, creeds and colors being very polite and smiling. It's a great time. Unfortunately, I've also seen folks *****ing, pissing and moaning about their jobs, their relatives, their position in life, the government, and why their buddies like black guns (no offense, ppine).

It's Christmas! Is it too much to ask for one small period in time each year that you shut the hell up and like people? It's Christmas! It is the supposed birthday of the guy that came down from heaven to save our dumb asses. And all we can do is bicker and fight. What the hell is wrong with us?

Don't you get it? It's Christmas!!!

And I'm off next week and it's going to turn cold. Yippee!

I give lists to family members, or tell them to use my amazon wish list. I usually just tell my wife exactly what I want instead of making a list. She does the same, she hates surprises.

I still want a gerber prodigy knife and a few minor things, but I have all my biggies for hiking.

All I want for Christmas is to cuddle with Big Agnes all night long out in the middle of nowhere. Instead I'm thinking I'll get a house full people who I'd rather not see.

I wasn't all that good this year so I went and got my own new gear. So far a new sleeping bag Big Agnes Lost Ranger Down bag. A Monte-Bell Ultra light parka, and this weekend getting a Katadyn Base Camp filter and possible a new pair of boots.

What every one really wants for Christmas is to be with the right people and celebrate the Holidays with some new or old traditons. I travelled to be with my family for decades every Thanksgiving and Xmas. Now I stay home and make new traditions with my partner and close friends. "Close friends are just like family except they are nice to me." That is one of my best original quotes. Tonite touring the lights with hot chocolate, pinon pine cut behind the house, Xmas Eve at my friends house seafood dinner.

For anyone that dreads the holidays, make some changes. Life is too short to spend this time with people that trouble you. I go see my family in the good weather which makes traveling much easier.
